Doctors
We are delighted to be able to return to more normality as we recover from the Covid-19 pandemic.
Important: All calls are recorded for training purposes
Please call us on 0300 790 6244 to arrange an appointment with a doctor. You will be offered the choice of whether you would prefer a face-to-face, or telephone consultation. Our reception team will still ask you a little bit about the problem to help you get to the right person at the right time.
You will no longer need to wear a face-covering for appointments unless you wish to do so. Please do not hesitate to ask the clinician to wear a face-covering if this would make you feel more comfortable. We would be happy to do so.
The majority of appointments will continue to be released on the day, however we will be gradually phasing in more pre-bookable appointments over time.
From 17th Septptember 2024 you will now be able to contact the CWIC (Care When it Counts) Service in Musselburgh directly if you have a new illness/concern. There is no need to call our reception team first.
- Call CWIC on 0300 790 6292 - Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 10:30am
This service is provided by an expert team of Nurse Practitioners, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Physician Associates and GPs. We believe the CWIC clinicians provide excellent clinical care and we encourage you to use this service.
There remain some exclusions;
- Patients under 12 years old
- Repeat prescription requests
- Contraceptive issues
- Pregnancy, postpartum or post-natal concerns
- Substance use issues
- Housebound patients
- Long term conditions and/or conditions already being treated by a GP
Unfortunately, they are not able to provide clinicians to our premises in Cockenzie despite our repeated requests for this to be the case. Therefore if the clinician needs to see you for an appointment, this will be at Musselburgh Primary Care Centre, Inveresk Rd, Musselburgh, EH21 7BP.
If you have any questions about this service we encourage you to raise them directly with the East Lothian Health & Social Care Partnership
Please be kind and patient with our expert reception team as they help you get the right appointment for you.
GP appointments are released from 8.30am each morning.
