Please call us on 0300 790 6244 if you have been asked by one of the doctors or nurses to arrange a blood test.

If you have been asked to arrange a ‘fasting’ blood test you should only drink water from about 11 o’clock on the night before your test.

Young children

Young children (usually <13) who need a blood test will have to attend the RHCYP in Edinburgh.

Once you have seen the GP to arrange which bloods need to be taken, please phone 0131 312 1548 for an appointment.

There is likely to be a short wait of around 4-5 weeks for an appointment.
