Minor Injuries
MIA is an online video consultation for those over 8 with a minor injury that occurred within the last 14 days. You can get advice quickly and safely for injuries including;
- strains, sprains and suspected broken bones of arms and legs
- wounds and minor burns
- minor bumps to head and face
- simple eye injuries
- insect bites and stings
A qualified nurse practitioner will advise if you can treat the injury at home or with help from a local pharmacy. If you need to attend the minor injury service they will give you a suitable appointment time.

Royal Hospital for Sick Children Emergency Department
The RHCYP Emergency Department is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and provides high-quality emergency care to children until their 16th birthday (sometimes a little older if they are under the care of one hospital specialist).
The Emergency Department does not provide the following:
- Telephone advice
- Treatment of minor illnesses
- Second opinions on pre-existing conditions
